The Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) is pleased to announce our 50th Anniversary year. We kicked off the celebration at the Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show in January. Join us in celebrating the goodness of horticulture and HRI throughout 2012.

Our anniversary fundraising campaign, Trek de Hort II: A Celebration of Horticulture seeks participants to create their own fundraisers to raise awareness and donations for HRI.  We hope you and your staff will consider joining us on a trek. Help us achieve our goal to raise $500,000 this year in support of green industry progress.

We have a few individuals that have already agreed to participate. These “trekkers”, will work on raising funds in unique and personal ways.  Their stories and progress will be featured on this website.

 
BIG FIVE Safari Camera Hunt Trek de Hort
Between June 23- July 8, 2012, we will attempt to photograph all of the ‘BIG FIVE’ African wild animals. These include elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo with the addition of hippopotamus, if we are really lucky!
